Regeneration

The best advice is always free.

A good read I want to follow since I've been getting serious abt working out.

And now here....

No TGIF post this week cause well, there is no reason to say that phrase. Absolute craziness today.

Trying to get home reminded me of the Godfather in that every  time I tried to leave somebody pulled me back in.

'Nuff Said.

From the 'What the heck is going on over there department'

Are you kidding me?

Every day I open bloglines to check out my rss feeds and all I read abt is web 2.0 and of course, Bush 43.

I prefer reading abt web 2.0 and not Bush 2.0.

Today's news coming over is most disturbing. I don't have the inclination to even try and wrap my head around the madness so go over here where someone already did that.

TGIF

Phew...a busy week, especially as I've been working out with a personal trainer this week.. My bones are bruised.

Recap from past few cryptic cricket posts:-

India win a thriller, rains, India lose a close one where they managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Quotes below and also, Happy birthday Chins who turns 23 today on the 23rd.

I see knowledge increasing and human power increasing. I see ever-increasing possibilities before life, And I see no limits set to it at all, Existence impresses me as a perpetual dawn. Our lives, as I apprehend, are great in expectations.

- H.G Wells

The average man will bristle if you say his father was dishonest, but he will brag a little if he discovers that his great-grandfather was a pirate.
- Bern Williams

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding. Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.
- Kahlil Gibran, 1883 - 1931

Weekend Update

And so week 20 of the nocturnal shift begins. I hope this is where the buck stops so as to speak.

Had an awesome weekend. Got drunk as promised with my family on saturday.

Thanks to Orkut, met a class-mate of mine from high school for coffee on Sunday. We met after 7 yrs so it was nice to catch up.

Today's quotes

People who take time to be alone usually have depth, originality, and quiet reserve.
- John Miller

The man who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd. The man who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no one has ever been.
- Alan Ashley-Pitt

TGIF

Today for a change I'm posting early Friday morning as opposed to late in the evening complaining abt all the work. I want to be optimistic abt things and that means looking ahead to the weekend.

I'm booked on Saturday cause that's when I'm planning to get drunk with my mama (mom's brother). Gonna be fun.

Planning a small re-union with buddies from high school. That should be fun as well. This is all due to orkut which has become the rage in Bombay.

I wish my buddies from facebook could be merged with peeps on orkut for a truly global friend circle thingie. Anyway I guess I'll have to be content for the time being with scraps from my desi buds.

Weekend Update

Took it easy during the weekend. My sister and my brother-in-law dropped in with some cake.. that was fun.

Watched couple of Indian movies, played a lot of Star Wars: Empire at War and also a few games of Civ-IV.

All in all, a relaxing weekend.

TGIF & Quotes of the Day

Usually I love Fridays.. scratch that train of thought. I still love em. But days like today make you reflect on all the reasons they are good.. cause today has been an insane ride filled with me fighting fires the whole day (figurative fires) and scheduling tons of work among the very few people at work who actually showed up today.

Baah.. it seems like people are always around when its fun and games. But when the going gets tough, the lazy and weak get going.

And on that note.. time for the quotes of the day. No theme today.

The hypothalamus is one of the most important parts of the brain, involved in many kinds of motivation, among other functions. The hypothalamus controls the "Four F's": 1. fighting; 2. fleeing; 3. feeding; and 4. mating.

-- Psychology professor in neuropsychology intro course

What is a committee? A group of the unwilling, picked from the unfit, to do the unnecessary.

-- Richard Harkness, The New York Times, 1960

A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.

-- William James

Writing about music is like dancing about architecture.

24 Theory

This just in. One of my fav tv shows 24 is actually Republican propaganda.

Personally, I think its just an action-packing over the top thrill ride. I'll let you guys draw your own conclusions.

Quotes of the Day

It's been a while. But the quotes have returned.

Too bad that all the people who know how to run this country are busy driving taxis and cutting hair.
