Recovery time

Phew, what a weekend. I've probably just recovered from the highs. Friday night was a wedding of close friends followed by a quick exit to TGIF nights with the office gang. Saturday was Ghazals and Long Island Iced Teas.

And finally on Sunday it was playing some cricket in the day time and then boozin with friends at a new nightclub close to my house called Indulge.

All in all, a great weekend. Coupled with the fact that my workouts have begun again I am so tired today.

What mumbai needs..

We need something similar to what they've done in Bogota.

This is a very good read. If we get a better functioning mass transit system and cut down on traffic and pollution, we can really go places.

I'm back

And I'm back. Its been a while since my last post and I did get lot of comments and complaints that my blog wasn't being updated any more and today seemed like the right day to come back.

Why today? I was reading about ScribeFire and the beta versions in yesteryear never seemed to work for me and I thought if it does work today, I'm back. Also, today is the 4th birthday of the company I work with and that seemed like the closest memorable event to getting back to posting.

I hope ScribeFire drives me the way w.bloggar used to back in the day to write (something) on a regular basis.

Quotes of the Day

The young man knows the rules, but the old man knows the exceptions.
- Oliver Wendell Holmes, 1809 - 1894

The young man who has not wept is a savage, and the old man who will not laugh is a fool.
- George Santayana, 1863 - 1921

Scar tissue

Soft spoken with a broken jaw
Step outside but not to brawl
Autumns sweet we call it fall
Ill make it to the moon if I have to crawl and
With the birds Ill share
This lonely view...

Busy day

Had a busy day today. Watched History of Violence followed by gym and then watched Equilibrium. Both of them damn good movies in entirely different ways.

Good stuff. Now at work. When I get back home tonight I'll play some Deus Ex (yes I'm having fun playing it again after 6 years. Also I'll catch up with Seinfeld season 5. Sucks to know they cancelled Deadwood and Rome before I had a chance to really get into either of them.

Wild weekend

Had a fun weekend. As part of the new plan to spend as much time partying on the weekends as possible I took initiative as I went along with the fam on a 2 hr drive from Mumbai in rains and then back on Sunday for one hell of a party and my friend Chin's place. Re-united with some school buddies and made some new friends as well.

Was sick yesterday but today back at work and right now have discovered google reader again and boy is it slick. Check out my shared items here:-

A new hobby

Yup, I've acquired a new hobby:- viral marketing or something similar to that.

I'm now involved in marketing a political opinion website/magazine called Policy Today. Please do check out some of the articles put up so far.

There will be frequent updates and sign up for an RSS feed if you want to be notified.

Back from the dead

I'm back from a much needed r&r break. I went extreme, going all the way to a little island called Jamaica by some people and then to an obscure little place in western new york called Buffalo.

All in all a good trip. I did take lot of pics and so did lot of my fam. I will be posting links later.

I also saw the iphone first hand and I have to say it was a fantastic experience. I will def be getting one once it launches in India. I also caught up on the movie scene with The Transformers by Michael Bay ( a very well made movie ) and then 1408 ( a truly scary movie with quite a few moments ) and I came so close to making a second trip to Atlantic City in 48 hrs. Phew... a wild 2 weeks they certainly were.

2007 - Year of the Fan

What a horrible year this has been for me as a sports fan. I love sports and follow any and every sport I can think of but this year took the cake.

Observe the teams I follow:-

in Cricket: India, poor year capped by losing in first round of the Cricket world cup

in the NBA: Dallas Mavs, best regular season record. End result, first round elimination

in the NHL: Buffalo Sabres, best regular season record. Out of the playoffs before the finals

in the EPL: Newcastle United, who? Exactly

in the Spanish Primera: Real Madrid, lost in the Champions League but can redeem something for this season in 2 weeks

in the NFL: Buffalo Bills, nuff said

And finally in the MLB: The New York Yankees, horrible start to the season led to a miracle needed to salvage this season. Forget that the yanks haven't won a WS ring since 2000, they have a realistic chance this year of NOT winning the division they play in for the first time since 1996 and even worse miss playoffs entirely for first time since '95.

What can possibly redeem the year?

Real Madrid win the Primera in 2 weeks and Yanks mount an insane comeback to make October. Oh and India winning a few games in England and Australia won't be too bad either.
